The ASEMV was founded in 2011 to organize exosome-related scientific conferences at which researchers could meet, share results and challenges, and form productive collaborations. From its outset, the ASEMV has championed inclusiveness, both of thought and participants, with a particular emphasis on hearing from the youngest members of the field. Its meetings have been held annually since 2011, with the exception of 2021 (suspended to COVID-19 pandemic).
